In 2008, Techie Gurus began with a moment of frustration.

After years working inside the managed IT space, we kept seeing the same scene play out:
Businesses were being sold outdated technology, stuck with slow, reactive IT teams, and told that "this is just how it is." Security was an afterthought. Strategy wasn't even in the conversation. And companies were paying the price in downtime, inefficiency, and growing cyber risk.

We knew there had to be a better way.

So we decided to build it.

The Early Days

At first, we were a small consultancy—just helping companies fix problems and modernize systems. But as we dug deeper into clients' environments, we realized something bigger:
Most of their issues weren't technical at all. They were strategic.

Leaders wanted to grow.
Their teams wanted stability.
But their technology was holding them back.

They weren't failing because they lacked tools.
They were failing because they lacked direction.

Becoming Something More

By 2011, we shifted into full managed IT because clients needed more than advice—they needed execution. They needed someone to get their environment under control, reduce the noise, and give them room to think.

Then the tide turned.

Attacks grew sharper. Criminals got smarter. AI leveled the playing field for bad actors. We watched businesses suffer not because they were careless, but because they didn't know what they were up against.

In 2018, we made a decision:
If we were going to protect businesses, cybersecurity couldn't be a service line. It had to be the foundation.
